At Connections we believe that
everyone in our community has a voice, a story and something to
offer. We think of ourselves as a body- where every part counts.
All that to say that our leaders aren't any more important than
anyone else in our community. They've just been giving the task of
serving others by leading. Meet some of them below.
FRED TURNER - LEAD PASTOR
In the summer of 2007 the leadership
board of Connections felt that the church could use more full-time,
dedicated leadership. After a nation-wide search that yielded 300
applicants, we asked Fred to join the Connections team. His primary
role is to provide direction that moves us towards becoming the
church that God is calling us to be. Fred does the majority of the
teaching at our adult weekend gatherings.
Fred and his wife Jennifer have been
married for 12 years. They have a five year old daughter (Addyson)
and a 3 year old son (Colston). They live in Cary.

ELIZABETH
PETERSON -
CHILDREN'S CHURCH DIRECTOR
She and her husband, Zane, have been
married for 16 years and have 3 children: Morgan (12), Connor (10)
and Jakob (8). They live in Holly Springs. In addition to a love
for children's ministry, Elizabeth is an avid gardener, an
enthusiastic cook and is currently completing a series of children's
books. In a previous life, she earned a degree in English, with
minors in Communications and Theology and worked in Public
Relations.
SHAWN COOPER -
STUDENT PASTOR
What do you need to know about
Shawn? Shawn loves people. That will explain the big smile, warm
welcome and possible hug that you'll get when you meet him. Shawn
also loves Jesus. Thus his passion to live for God each day and to
help others (parents & teens) do the same. Oh yes- and Shawn is
Canadian. This nugget will help you decode the occasional odd
pronunciation and understand why he loves hockey but has no interest
in football.
Shawn has been leading Connections in
our efforts to love and serve Middle & High School students in
Jesus' name since January of 2007. And he does a great job at it.
Seriously. Shawn has been married to Elisa for 6 years. They live
in Apex (technically) with their 4 year old son Layton and 1 year
old daughter, London.
LANCE BLEDSOE -
WORSHIP LEADER
Lance Bledsoe leads the Connections'
worship band to help us experience God through music during our
Sunday worship gatherings. Lance has been married to his wife Lisa
for 21 years. Together they have 3 boys- Canaan, Isaac, & Seth.
Lance was a stay-at-home dad and homeschooled his boys when Lisa was
serving as a United Methodist pastor- which makes him one of the
bravest guys you'll ever meet. Lance lives in Garner and plays bass
in an 80's Rock Cover Band. Want to get to know Lance a bit more?
